Learning to Love Yourself And Be Who You Are
A Workshop for Women
Two Day Intensive
Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23, 2012
Lancaster, PA
Are you a people pleaser?
Do you have difficulty saying "no?"
Do you have difficulty being assertive?
Do you put your needs on the back burner?
Do you dislike or even hate your body?
Do you have difficulty liking or loving yourself?
Do you have difficulty forgiving yourself? Do you have difficulty being compassionate toward yourself?”
Are you too hard on yourself?
Do you feel empty inside?
Do you know who you are?
Are you being your authentic self?
Do you feel unworthy or unlovable?
Do you struggle with feelings of guilt and shame?
Do you feel disconnected from your Higher Power?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then this workshop is for you. Dr. Bailey approaches "Learning to Love Yourself" and "Being Who You Are," from a spiritual perspective. She believes we are souls having a human experience. At our core is our soul, which is a Divine being of love and light. Unfortunately, due to the mental, emotional, and physical pain and suffering of life, the spiritual lessons we are learning, and the karma we are balancing, we can quickly forget who we are and loving ourselves becomes more and more difficult.
Additionally, most women are socialized to put their needs on the back burner and care for others first - often at their own expense. Being assertive is often viewed negatively, where as pleasing others is reinforced. If women deviate from the social norm they often feel a sense of guilt and shame, and they are petrified of not being liked by others. This dynamic further deteriorates their self-esteem.
Another issue with which many women struggle is that of body image. Most women are raised to focus on their appearance and to be accepted in life they must look "good." Women's bodies are often criticized as not being "good enough." These messages can come from parents, siblings, peers, the media, and other sources. Criticism abounds.
As a result of this socialization and conditioning many women deeply internalize the message that they aren't good enough and they become their own worst critic. The quest for perfectionism is a constant, unrealized goal - as no one is perfect. Failing to be perfect, in turn, leads to more self-criticism and negative thoughts that often spiral into depression, anxiety, and even lower self-esteem.
In this life-changing, experiential workshop, Dr. Bailey will teach you the tools to love yourself and be who you, as she gently guides you on the path to self-discovery.
