Body-Mind-Emotions-Spirit Integration

The four aspects of our being, also known as our aura, consists of our physical body, then our mental body, followed by our emotional body and ends with our spiritual body. For most people, the physical body extends out 250 feet. The mental body extends an additional 200 feet. The emotional body extends 150 feet and the spiritual body extends another 500 to 600 feet. As you extend out from the physical body, the bodies become less dense and more ethereal.

If we are in a confined space like a house, office or car, our bodies or auric field condenses to fit into the space in which we are in. Most of us spend much of our time inside, so it would be good practice to step outside for at least five minutes a day and stretch your aura. Your aura will automatically stretch to its full length when it is in an open space.

Why is it important to know that our four aspects of our being or auric bodies are connected? It is important to know because if we ignore or neglect one aspect of ourselves, the other aspects are weakened. It also means if we strengthen one aspect, all of the other aspects are strengthened. The goal is to have all four aspects balanced and running like a well-oiled machine, which, in turn, leads to optimal health and vitality. A simple but powerful technique to integrate and balance our four aspects is through deep breathing. The breath is the source of life and we can use it to heal and integrate our four aspects of being.

If we wish to completely heal our mind, we cannot ignore our body, emotions or spirit. If we wish to heal our body, we must address our thinking, emotions and spirit. If our spirit is in need of rejuvenation, we must look at our thoughts, feelings and how we care for our body. Our body, mind, emotions and spirit are intimately connected.

Of course, we can survive and function as human beings, at least for a while, and ignore one of these four aspects of our being. But when we do, we pay a price. There are many people on the spiritual path who take good care of their spirit, emotions and their mind, however, they neglect their body. When our body starts to decline and act up through pain and disease, it is very difficult to reach our full potential as spiritual beings.

When we do not care for our mind, nothing seems to work. If our mind is preoccupied with negative, destructive, angry, obsessive, depressive, or anxious thoughts and feelings, our entire world is turned upside down. Often when the mind is caught in destructive patterns of thinking, it can affect us in terms of not consuming enough calories to sustain us, or in overeating and other addictions.

We also may ignore our body's need for proper rest and exercise. Additionally, negative emotions can eventually settle into our body as dis-ease. Dr. Caroline Myss, a highly respected medical intuitive, has written an entire book entitled, Anatomy of Spirit, that documents this phenomenon.

Similarly, when we ignore our spirit, we severely limit our quality of life – we limit our ability to be fully aware, vibrant and alive. When we ignore our spirit, we limit our capacity to be fully engaged in life, and to be deeply compassionate toward ourselves and others. When we ignore our spirit, we limit our ability to be awed by the beauty of life itself, and we limit our ability to love. When we ignore our spirit, we are limiting the degree to which we can help ourselves, others and the world.

When we ignore our spirit and take good care of our body, mind and emotions, we may look like we have it all together. We can be physically fit, mentally alert and emotionally expressive. Perhaps we have a good job and financial success. On the outside we can look like the poster child of health. But what is on the inside?

We are spiritual beings having a human experience. When we do not care for our spirit, it can create an emptiness inside that is so cavernous it is beyond measure. When we do not care for our spirit, we lack meaning and purpose in life and we become dead inside. We become the walking dead whether we know it or not. When we care for our body, mind emotions and spirit we are able to become the living embodiment of the Divine that we are meant to be.

Dr. Bailey can help you formulate a plan to integrate all four aspects of your being to help you achieve full health and vitality.
